Optimization Design of RC Elevated Water Tanks under Seismic Loads

چکیده

This paper deals with the seismic column design of 35 elevated RC water storage tanks. Tanks comprise a top conic trunk reservoir, variable hollow square cross-sections, and shallow foundation on sand layer. The five-column heights considered are 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 m. five tanks subjected to seven degrees loading characterized by reference peak ground acceleration in Eurocode 8. designed against full prescriptions 2, 8, Spaniard Structural Code Practice. includes loads for seismicity, wind, snow, etc., together action self-weight dead loads. optimization method is variant old bachelor algorithm, an adaptive threshold acceptance neighborhood move based mutation operator from genetic algorithms. Column results show high nonlinearity problem since horizontal forces depend rigidity height columns. main features optimized give guidance practical this kind tank.
